Sri Krishnasamy Arts & Science College is a major Co-Ed College for Arts and Science located at Mettamalai, Sattur in the Southern district of Tamilnadu. Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College has been a leader in providing education for Semi- Urban students for the last 11 years. The trustees of the "Sri Krishnasamy Educational Trust", Sivakasi, are also trustees of Sri Krishnasamy Fire Works, an institution that has enjoyed a longstanding and reputable legacy. Through the undertaken effort of the trustees to provide an opportunity to establish a base for providing higher education for the population of Sattur and Sivakasi, Sri Krishnasamy Arts & Science College was created. The opening of the college was officially conducted on 19th June 2014, by Dr. Kalyani Mathivanan, Vice-Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, and the initial development of the college will focus on academic excellence and equity of educational opportunity to all individuals, but particularly to those individuals that are underprivileged and less fortunate than others.
The Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College began operations in academic year 2014-15 at Mettamalai, Sattur with five undergraduate degree programmes (English, Math with CA, Computer Science, Commerce and Commerce with Computer Applications), with 80 students enrolled and 21 faculty members. The institution has since moved to a brand new facility that is complete with exceptional infrastructure, state-of-the-art classroom facilities, fully furnished laboratories and a library, strategically located near the main thoroughfare connecting Sattur to Sivakasi. Every year, new programmes are added and to date, the College offers 20 undergraduate programmes and 5 postgraduate programmes. There are several professional programmes available to rural students at the College such as BBA, BCA, B.Com (CA), BA (Criminology and Police Admin) and B.Sc (F.S) that will help them achieve higher education levels. To date, Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College has created hundreds of gold medalists and University ranking holders.
