IQAC

Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College created an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for its major UG and PG programmes as a post-accreditation quality maintenance strategy. Because quality improvement is a continuous activity, the IQAC should be integrated into the institution's structure and strive to achieve the goals of quality enhancement and sustainability. The IQAC must offer a major and meaningful contribution in the post-accreditation period by channeling an institution's activities and measurements toward academic excellence.

Vision

To prioritize quality as the key element of higher education by integrating Internal and External quality assessment, enhancement, and sustained initiatives.

Mission

To encourage the academic atmosphere on campus for the development of quality teaching, learning, and research.

To encourage students to be independent, responsible, innovative, and to take responsibility for their learning through self-assessment.

To Promote all aspects of research, including training and consulting, with an emphasis on high-quality research.

To provide opportunities for embracing the most current information and communication technologies.

Objectives

To create a quality system for deliberate, consistent, and catalytic planned action to improve the Institute's academic and administrative performance.

To encourage measures for institutional functioning that improves quality by internalizing quality culture and institutionalizing best practices.

Functions

  • Develop and implement standards for both academic and administrative processes with regards to Quality.
  • Involve Stakeholders in providing Input about Quality at the Institution.
  • Disseminate Quality Standards and provide opportunities for Workshops, Seminars and Quality Groups.
  • Document Institutional Efforts and Activities for Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Act as the Lead Facilitator of Quality Initiatives and Best Practices.
  • Create and Maintain Comprehensive, High Quality Institutional Data with MIS.
  • Foster and Mitigate a Culture of Quality at the Institute.
  • To help the Departments in monitoring the following activities:
    • Tutorial
    • Assignment
    • Seminar
    • Supplemental Course
    • Remediation Session
    • Make-Up Examination Activities.
    • Collect Exit Feedback
    • Course Outcome Evaluations
    • CMF at the End of Every Academic Cycle.
  • Assist Departments and Professional Organizations in collecting and Analyzing Stakeholder Input.
  • Support Departments in the Development of Rubrics and Provide Statistical Insights for Academic Planning.
  • To help the Departments/professional bodies in the collection and analysis of feedback from:
    • Parents
    • Industry experts/academicians who are visiting the college
    • Executives of professional
    • bodies
    • Alumni
  • Recommend Enhancement Programs and Manage their Implementation through the T&P Cell.
  • Assist Departments in Improving Incubation Centers and Centers of Excellence.
  • Coordinate Internal Academic Evaluations and Disseminate Results to GB/CAC/DAC.
  • Collect and Organize Annual Self-Assessment Forms from Faculty Staff.
  • Collect Funding Agency Information and Provide to R&D and Other Department.

Administrative Activities

  • To help the Principal Office in the preparation of the schedule of the following meetings:
  • Governing Body (once in a semester).
  • College Academic Council (once in a week/two weeks).
  • To help the Principal Office (PO) in constituting committees and cells for decentralization of work and effective functioning of the Institute.
  • To help the P.O. in the preparation of guidelines and the schedule of periodic meetings of these committees.
  • To coordinate the activity of budget allocation based on the requirements of the Departments.
  • To coordinate the activity of printing of various stationery items based on the requirements of Departments and Laboratories.
  • To prepare/modify various application/information formats at least once in a year.
  • To prepare the activity calendar of the Institute based on the individual plans submitted by Departments/various forums.
  • To coordinate the flow of information to the website administrator from various forums/Departments before and after the activities/achievements.
  • To coordinate the process of preparation and submission of activity record files by various forums after the activity.
  • To coordinate the process of audio-visual recording of all major activities and submission of the CD to the central library.
  • To help the P.O. in the periodic review of the policy book of the Institute.
  • To collect all the files/documents from all the Departments/P.O. at the end of the academic year.
  • To give periodic inputs to the website in-charge/administrator regarding updating of information.
  • To discuss innovative concepts and ways of execution with coordinators of various forums.
  • To help the P.O. in the preparation of the schedule of stock verification of various laboratories/library at the end of the year.
