Our Values

The Library & Information Centre of Sri Krishnasamy College of Arts and Science, Sattur was established in 2014. The library is housed in the SKAASC campus and occupies a spacious area of 2,100 sq. ft., with seating capacity for 100 students at a time. The library is well-designed with proper ventilation, adequate lighting, and ceiling fans to ensure a comfortable reading and learning environment. It is a fully computerized and integrated library equipped with modern facilities to support academic and research activities. The primary objective of the library is to provide efficient information services and access to a wide range of print and electronic resources, catering to the scholarly, academic, and informational needs of the institutional community. The library collection includes more than 7,000 books covering all departments, along with textbooks, reference books, journals, e-journals, online databases, and other digital resources. An Open Access System is followed to encourage independent learning and easy access to resources. The Library & Information Centre plays a vital role in supporting teaching, learning, and research activities of the institution.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Students/staff shall scan their ID card in the E Gate Register scanner while entering and leaving the library.
  2. Books shall be issued only on production of Bar-coded ID card
    3. Strict silence shall be maintained in the library.
  3. Personal belongings like files, folders, bags, personal books, bound notebooks, issued books etc are not allowed inside the library. They should be kept on the rack provided at the entrance of the library.
  4. Mobile phones and other devices should be in silent mode
  5. Library books should be handled with utmost care. Marking or any kind of scribbling on pages or folding of page is strictly prohibited. Mishandling or damage to the books will invite penalty.
  6. In case of loss of any book, the borrower as to pay the current price of the book and a fine decided by the Librarian.
